Disaster Management Plans
VIP International has experienced and registered disaster management agents who document and enforce safety and security measures at the venues our principals’ visit.
These plans are documented in what is called a DMP (Disaster Management Plan) that outline the requirements for a safe environment for the event and apply to all the parties involved.
This document outlines the Key Drivers and Actions that will ensure that safety and disaster management is effectively conducted at each event. Each contractor is responsible for ensuring that they comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Gatherings Act205, all other relevant Council By-Laws (including the Public Open Spaces By-Laws) and all other pertinent safety procedures and precautions.
The Event Organisers and Coordinators are at risk if the parties involved in the event do not fulfill their roles. The liability will have a direct impact on the event and individuals in charge. This document is drawn up to protect their interests and those of the stakeholders, visitors and owners. The Event Organisers and Coordinators ensure that the role players are clear as to the legal responsibility that each may have in relation to compliance with legislation and take responsibility for their actions.
The Disaster Management Plan dictates the measures to be taken in various situations. It incorporates informing the local police and hospitals, fire departments, traffic police and Law enforcement (Metro) to make them aware of the situation should their services be needed. It is important to understand that the property owner and the authorities are responsible for crisis management and the act of evacuating the venue.
